Thank you for choosing the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center for your sign language interpreting needs. We have been providing quality Sign Language Interpreters for 35 years to Southwest Florida. DHHC offers a variety of evening classes in American Sign Language 1-6 and ASL conversational on an ongoing basis. Classes are held at DHHC once a week for a 6 week session. Each class builds on one other.

Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment, EIPA is a tool that evaluates the voice-to-sign and sign-to voice skills of interpreters who work in the elementary through secondary classroom using videotape stimulus materials and a procedure that includes a comprehensive rating system.
Deaf mentoring Deaf, working with the deaf and hard of hearing students and adults teaching deaf culture, life skills, American with Disabilities Act (ADA), family support, job assistance, immigration support and more.
The FTRI free phone program offers specialized amplified telephones that may help you end the frustration over the phone. The equipment is loaned AT NO CHARGE for as long as needed, to residents who qualify.

We invite you to join us on Friday, December 6th from 6pm-9pm for our annual holiday party. There will be free food from The Hungry Pony foodtruck for the first 100 RSVPs and beer donated by Old Soul. This event is for everyone; hearing, deaf, hard of hearing, etc. Come practice your ASL! There will also be a Signing Santa from 7pm-7:30pm. See you there!
